IBPS PO Exam 2014-2015 - Exam Dates, Eligibility Criteria, Marking Scheme

IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) is going to conduct IBPS PO 2014 exam for recruitment of eligible candidates to the post of PO/MT (Probationary Officer/Management Trainee) in the month of October/November. IBPS, an autonomous organization, conducts an exam every year, according to a mandate provided by participating banks or financial institutions. The score of IBPS PO 2014 will be valid till 31 March, 2016, up to which, qualified candidates can apply to any interview conducted by any of the participating banks, if shortlisted by them. Details regarding the qualification, the structure of the exam and availability of call letters are provided in this article.

IBPS PO 2014 Exam Dates And Schedule

The registration process for this year’s exam is over, and candidates are eagerly waiting for their call letters to know the schedule for their written test. In its official notification, the organization has stated that call letters for the test will be available from 1 October, 2014 and tentative IBPS PO 2014 dates are provided to fall in October/November. The result of the written test will be declared in the month of November and the interview will be conducted in the month of January, 2015, followed by provisional allotment in April, 2015.

Educational Qualifications Required 

All the candidates, having a graduate degree from an Indian Government recognized University or any other qualification equivalent to it as recognized by the Central Government. The candidates need to possess a valid certificate of degree or a mark-sheet from the University/Board for the result declared not later than 11 August, 2014.

IBPS PO 2014 Exam Patters And Marking Scheme

The structure of the IBPS PO 2014 exam comprises of a written exam of 2-hour duration worth 200 marks, followed by an interview conducted by any of the participating banks. The IBPS PO 2014 syllabus for the written test comprises of five sections, containing a total of 200 objective type questions, which are as listed below:
1.       Reasoning (50 marks)
2.       Quantitative Aptitude (50 marks)
3.       English Language (40 marks)
4.       General Awareness (particularly related to banking) (40 marks)
5.       Computer Knowledge (20 marks)
All the parts, as listed above, will be available to all the candidates in two languages, English & Hindi, except the one for  English Language.

Negative Marking: Marks scored by the candidates are subject to a penalty of 1/4th of the marks for the question to calculate the final score. However, no penalty is applicable for questions left unanswered.
Cutoff Score: The candidates need to qualify in each section of the written test as well as the total cutoff score to qualify in the test and get shortlisted to appear for an interview.
Interview Process: Candidates, who have qualified the written test, will be called for an interview by the participating banks, as per their requirement, the call letters for which will be available on the website of the IBPS.
